First, Nissan Motor Co. CEO Carlos Ghosn wants an affordable sports car under the 350Z for Nissan. The Nissan Urge concept is probably a trial balloon and not neccessarily what the new car might look like. Think of the 1999 Z concept (240z-ish) vs the 2001 Z-concept (350Z) or the 2001 GT-R concept vs 2005 GT-R Proto concept. Maybe we will get the Silvia name resurrected or the Sports Concept based on the Versa… Second, Nissan likes to make ugly cars. Behold the new 2007 Sentra. I would hate to be a Nissan car salesman that has to sell this beast or it's step brother Versa for that matter. 
BTW, there are some pretty cool cars been unveiled at the Detroit, like the new Camaro concept, Challenger concept, Mazda Kabura (RX-7 maybe?), Inifinity Coupe Concept, Nissan Urge, etc... Autoweek
